Toothless

Well, that was that. Turns out the dentist was just the man- I had an abscess forming and that was the root cause of the problem. I now have a tooth that is largely hollowed out and filled with putty and I have to go back in a couple of weeks so he can try and pull the other nerve out and fill it up with concrete, so that's nice. I fully expect the cost to be extravagant.

He's a brilliant dentist, though - he makes a big deal of not causing you any pain, which means that although I couldn't feel the left side of my face until late in the afternoon it really didn't hurt. Also why he left the other nerve in - it was the most affected by the infection which caused it to put a protective layer around itself that was harder for the anaesthetic to penetrate. Now I'm only a little bit aware of my tooth. Of course I also have a big mark on the inside of my cheek where I kept biting myself without realising it...

Tomorrow we are off to a wedding, so I'll probably be a little quiet until the weekend on account of it being in Ireland, where the internet isn't invented yet*.

yikes!

and, that's where google lives...but alas I too have heard there is largely no internet there.

Ireland + weddings= Ooooo. (Its roughly equivalent to $3000 saddles and really nice chocolate bars in my mind.) :]
