More radio related nonsense

After all my excitement the other day we ended up having to give up half way through our gig on tuesday because Andy's throat was so sore that he couldn't sing- Charlie, our piano player, stood in for a few songs, but he only normally sings harmony and he doesn't always know all the words so we ended up doing half a set ( with a couple of fantastic stand-in tracks from our friend Laura Colegate who some of you may have heard in the past ) and having to give up. It also mean't that we had to cancel the show on Wednesday, which was a real shame, except that I am feeling very ill at the moment (again - how many colds can you get in one autumn ) so I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it much.

Meanwhile, we've been chosen for BBC Southern Counties Radio's demo challenge on sunday night- ours is played head to head with two other bands' recordings and impartial criticism given by some music industry professionals. In the meantime there is a page about the show where you can listen to a bit of the three bands' songs and vote for your favourite - right here.

Other good news includes the fact that my favourite live act ever, The Outcast Band, have put all their songs up for download including a few that never got released. I had heard nothing of them since they split in '96 ( which is 8 years ago now, antiquity fans) so it was really nice to find this.

Also, if you like crazy stuff you might like The Perry Bible Fellowship - it is a comic strip somewhere between Red Meat and The Far Side but mostly just uniquely odd. I'm going to just assume that you read the essential comic selection of Sluggy, Sinfest, Scarygoround, Wigu and PA already. It's not like it costs you anything after all...
